Budz' McGee
All the info you could ever want to know about Budz' McGee
Front
man for the group Dark Ninjas and Political Activist Budz' McGee
is not your typical political rapper. While he does write songs
of the typical rap nature (getting fucked up, laid, and personal
beefs), Budz typically speaks out politically in his raps, but does
so in a usually atypical way. Budz writes;
"I strive to stand out when
I make a poly song. Everyone says that Bush sucks, I try and explain
why. Most artist just preach to the choir, my goal is to maybe turn
a few heads. Im not afraid to say what I believe, and I do believe there
is a need for a major government shake-up. When I say revolution I dont
necessary mean your typical coup, Im saying it's time we take a look
at where our consumer culture is taking us before we as a society fall
apart, before violence really is the only answer."
His hard-hitting lyrics and relentless and unkind to both
sides of the political aisle; "I think
the Republican war on basic human urges like sex is going to far, but
the Democrats anti gun laws are simply ignorant, truth is no side is
right 10% of the time, let alone 100%."
After the Dark Ninjas originally broke up, and Big C moved
out to Vegas, Budz' decided to do a solo album. After some deliberation
he decided to break away completely from the horrorcore genre (Originally
his solo album was going to be "Bunny Man - Wicked as it comes"),
and instead concentrate on a more hardcore hip-hop style album. In addition
to that though, Budz decided to take on the job of making the "super
group" that is Dark Ninjas, acting as it's front man providing
a common element throughout the album. Making the Dark Ninjas more like
a compilation album than a typical rap group.
Budz McGees debut album And a Revolution Occurs as well
as the Dark Ninjas newest album The Dark Ninjas Project are expected
to drop sometime in the coming year, time and financing permitting.
