There isn't much
to tell as of now about the Dark Ninjas history, so lets start
off with some background on Big C Kronik first. Back when
he was a little ninja he took voice lessons, and took them
for a while, he plays several instruments including a violin,
guitar, and piano, so he's been involved with music for a
while.
      Budz' Mcgee was submerged into
rock music at an early age, listening to Black Sabbath at
the age of 4 for example. He never took a voice lesson, and
it shows, and he can play the saxophone, and learned some
guitar several years ago. (He's forgotten most of it, but
is slowly re-learning)
      Then came the
7th or 8th grade, no one knows for sure, but that's when Big
C and Budz' Mcgee first met. Big C had moved to Wisconsin
from colorado, and the two were somewhat friends for the next
two years. Freshman year of highschool they had a class together
and became better friends, they also technically wrote a song
together, but neither would be caught singing it today. They
continued to be friends and as both grew to be more and more
into ICP they began to do more and more outside of school.
Budz' Mcgee had been working on lyrics for about a year (songs
like Mad Budhist Sex, Time Ticks By, and Who got love for
the fat kid are all songs he wrote prior to the Dark Ninja
days.) and had been planning on making his own CD entitled
Who Got Love For The Fat Kid. Well one day, the Psychopathic
street team rolled into Milwaukee so Big C and Budz' Mcgee
went up there and on the way back kept on spitting psychopathic
rhymes.
      By the end of
the day they had decided to put together a rap group, and
have been working at that ever since. Side note, the group
went through several possible names, including Barnyard Animals,
Mad Budhist Sex, and several others. (Some of which obviously
became tracks on the cd)
      The group has
grown alot since then. Undergoing both drastic changes in
style, and even changing their stage names. While Psychopathic
Records is a big part of how they got together, it is no longer
a main creative influence. Switching from the horrorcore genre
to a more suburban rap style, they've left most of the early
works behind to reach for bigger and better things. Perhaps
some day the vault will be opened and all the stuff recorded
for "The Life of Man is Unforgiving" will be released,
but they'll save that for the days when they don't have to
worry about their names being ruined.
       With Big C moving
out to vegas in late 2004 this left Budz' the dutie of restucturing
the Dark Ninjas. Originally planning to shelve the project
to a later date and work on a solo album, things changed when
Budz', Spector, Doobie, and Big C back in town for a while
made the track "Get Up (Blaze it Up)". This completely
changed up what the plan was, and Budz' set forth to put together
an entire album of collaborations and other group efforts,
while working on his solo album at the same time. Already
several artist have come together for the "Dark Ninjas
Project," and even more can be expected soon.
      That is the
story of the Dark Ninjas as it goes today, time will add more
to this eventually.
